Additional Information for Surgical Fibrin Sealant
Surgical Fibrin Sealant is a type of medical product that falls under the supply class of Surgical Dressing Materials. It is used in various surgical procedures to promote hemostasis (the process of stopping bleeding) and to seal tissues.
Fibrin sealant is made from a combination of fibrinogen and thrombin, which are two proteins involved in the blood clotting process. When applied to a surgical site, the fibrinogen and thrombin react together to form a clot, effectively sealing the area and preventing further bleeding.
This type of sealant is commonly used in surgeries where traditional methods of hemostasis, such as sutures or cauterization, may not be sufficient. It can be particularly useful in procedures involving delicate tissues or areas that are difficult to access.
Surgical Fibrin Sealant is considered a part of the supply group of Medical, Dental, and Veterinary Equipment and Supplies. It is an essential component in the operating room and is used by surgeons, dentists, and veterinarians to ensure proper wound closure and healing.
It is important to note that the use of Surgical Fibrin Sealant should be done by trained medical professionals and in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions and guidelines.
