Aircraft Air To Air Heat Exchanger
Item Name Code (INC) 61419
![]() |
A heat transfer device designed to lower compressed air temperature to an acceptable level by passing it through tubes and flowing ducted ram air over the tubes, heat of the compressed air is transferred to the ram air reducing the temperature. Consists of a sheet metal housing with ram air connection(s) with or without ducts, a tubular type core, inlet and outlet ports. May contain a shutoff valve. Normally used in aircraft air conditioning and/or air induction systems.
Additional Information for Aircraft Air To Air Heat Exchanger
Aircraft Air To Air Heat Exchangers are components of the Aircraft Air Conditioning, Heating, and Pressurizing Equipment. They are part of the supply class within the supply group Aerospace Craft Components and Accessories.
These heat exchangers are responsible for transferring heat between the aircraft's air conditioning system and the outside air. They work by using a series of tubes or fins to facilitate the exchange of heat energy. The heat exchanger helps to regulate the temperature and maintain a comfortable environment inside the aircraft cabin.
By transferring heat from the warm cabin air to the cooler outside air, the air to air heat exchanger helps to cool down the cabin during hot weather conditions. Conversely, during colder weather, it can help to warm up the cabin by transferring heat from the outside air to the cabin.
Overall, the aircraft air to air heat exchanger plays a crucial role in maintaining a comfortable and controlled environment inside the aircraft cabin, ensuring the well-being and comfort of passengers and crew members.
