Chromatic Vibraphone

Chromatic vibraphones are musical instruments that belong to the supply class of Musical Instruments in the supply group of Musical Instruments, Phonographs, and Home-Type Radios.

A vibraphone is a percussion instrument that consists of a set of metal bars arranged in a keyboard-like fashion. These bars are struck with mallets to produce sound. The chromatic vibraphone, specifically, is designed to play all the notes of the chromatic scale, including both the natural and sharped/flatted tones.

The bars of a chromatic vibraphone are typically made of aluminum or steel and are suspended over resonators. These resonators amplify and sustain the sound produced by the bars. The instrument also features a motor-driven rotating disc located beneath each bar. This disc has small holes that create a vibrato effect when the disc rotates and the holes are covered and uncovered.
