A rectangular nonmetallic fabricated device consisting of two parts. The rectangular housing consists of a front cover with metal legs (for emplacement) and a rear cover. The portable device is designed to house six hundred rubber balls, and explosive charge and packing material. When initiated by the Modernized Demolition Initiator (MDI), it provides a flash/bang effect. The sting effect from the rubber balls causes temporarily confusion, disorientation, and/or incapacitation of the target individual without doing permanent physical damage. It is usually emplaced by dismounted soldiers.

Additional Information for Non-Lethal Crowd Control Modular Munition Additional Information for Non-Lethal Crowd Control Modular Munition

Non-Lethal Crowd Control Modular Munitions (NLCM) are a type of ammunition designed for crowd control purposes. They fall under the supply class Remote Munitions, which refers to munitions that can be remotely deployed or activated. NLCMs are specifically categorized within the supply group Ammunition and Explosives.

NLCMs are designed to incapacitate or disperse crowds without causing lethal harm. They are typically used by law enforcement or military personnel in situations where non-lethal force is necessary to maintain public order or control unruly crowds.

These munitions are modular, meaning they can be customized or adapted to suit different situations or requirements. They may come in various forms, such as rubber bullets, bean bag rounds, tear gas canisters, or flashbang grenades. The specific type of NLCM used will depend on the desired effect and the level of force required.

It is important to note that while NLCMs are intended to be non-lethal, they can still cause serious injury or harm if used improperly or at close range. Therefore, they should be handled and deployed with caution by trained personnel following established protocols and guidelines.
