Additional Information for Brake Shoe Set
A brake shoe set is a component of a drum brake system in a vehicle. It consists of two curved metal plates, known as brake shoes, that are lined with friction material. When the brake pedal is pressed, hydraulic pressure is applied to the brake shoes, causing them to press against the inner surface of the brake drum. This friction between the brake shoes and the drum slows down or stops the rotation of the wheel, thus helping to bring the vehicle to a halt. Brake shoe sets are typically sold as a complete set for both the left and right wheels of a vehicle.
