A circuit breaker box, also known as a breaker panel or electrical panel, is a crucial component in the electrical system of a building. It is part of the supply class Circuit Breakers in the supply group Electrical And Electronic Equipment Components.

The circuit breaker box is responsible for distributing electrical power to various circuits throughout a building. It acts as a central hub where all the electrical circuits are connected and protected. The main function of the circuit breaker box is to monitor the flow of electricity and protect the electrical system from overloads, short circuits, and other electrical faults.

Inside the circuit breaker box, there are multiple circuit breakers, which are devices designed to automatically interrupt the flow of electricity when a fault is detected. Each circuit breaker is responsible for protecting a specific circuit in the building, such as lighting, outlets, appliances, or HVAC systems.

In case of an electrical fault, the circuit breaker will trip, cutting off the power supply to the affected circuit. This helps prevent damage to the electrical system and reduces the risk of electrical fires. Once the fault is resolved, the circuit breaker can be manually reset to restore power to the circuit.

Circuit breaker boxes are typically installed in easily accessible locations, such as utility rooms, basements, or garages. They are usually labeled to indicate which circuit corresponds to each breaker, making it easier to identify and troubleshoot electrical issues.

It is important to note that working with electrical systems can be dangerous and should only be done by qualified professionals. If you have any concerns or need assistance with your circuit breaker box, it is recommended to consult a licensed electrician.
