Additional Information for Rethreading Die
A rethreading die is a tool used for repairing or restoring damaged or worn-out threads on bolts, screws, or other threaded objects. It is part of the supply class "Taps, Dies, And Collets; Hand And Machine" in the supply group "Hand Tools."
Rethreading dies are typically made of high-speed steel or carbon steel and come in various sizes to match different thread pitches. They have cutting edges or teeth that are designed to remove material and reshape the threads. The die is placed over the damaged thread and turned in a clockwise direction to cut new threads.
Using a rethreading die can help save time and money by avoiding the need to replace the entire threaded object. It is a useful tool for mechanics, plumbers, machinists, and anyone working with threaded fasteners.
