Additional Information for Countersink
Countersink refers to a conical-shaped hole or recess that is created in a material, typically metal or wood, to allow the head of a screw, bolt, or rivet to sit flush or below the surface. The purpose of countersinking is to ensure that the fastener does not protrude and create an uneven or snagging surface. Countersinking is commonly used in woodworking, metalworking, and construction applications to provide a clean and professional finish.
