Telephone Cable

Two or more individually insulated conductors (solid or stranded) contained in a common covering, or two or more individually insulated conductors twisted or molded together without a common covering, and specifically designed for use in telephone lines or circuits. When there are over four conductors contained in a common covering, the majority of these conductors must be arranged in pairs, quads, or combinations thereof. Refers to bulk quantities only; for items of definite length with processed ends or terminated in fittings, see CABLE ASSEMBLY, TELEPHONE. Excludes items having tinsel conductors, items having shields which cover less than the total number of conductors, or items rated for radio frequency characteristics.
