A highly porous dehydrated crystalline material whose pores are of such dimensions as to allow ingress and adsorption of only those molecules which are small enough to enter the pore system. It may be used for drying and purifyiing gases, liquid and refrigerants, the drying of hydrocarbons and also in gas chromatography. Do not use if a more specific name applies.
