The 6V53T Model 5063-5393 Engine by Detroit Diesel is a Two-Cycle V6 Diesel Engine, Turbocharged, designed for the propulsion in the M113A3 series of armored vehicles.
The 5063-5393 engine for the M113A3 family vehicles has an air box heater cold start system.
The 5063-5393 can be upgraded to glow plug cold start operation and we can provide an upgrade kit.
The 5063-5393 has been upgraded by direct replacement witht the 5063-539L engine with glow plugs by most NATO users, the new engine is NSN 2815-01-412-2715
