A protective covering specially designed to be mounted on an aircraft, ground vehicle or fire control equipment. It protects the aircraft, ground vehicle or their occupants, or fire control equipment from small arms or anti-aircraft fire, or exploding-mine fragments. It may be made from metallic or nonmetallic material, either in sections or in one piece. It may have integral fittings for installation.
