FSG 25 Vehicular Equipment Components

The term "vehicular" as delimited for group 25, is applicable to those vehicles and tractors included in groups 23 and 24, construction vehicles included in group 38, and warehouse trucks, tractors, and trailers included in group 39. It does not apply to railway vehicles (group 22), aircraft (group 15), or watercraft (group 19). An item of supply which is a "vehicular" component, within the scope delimited above, is classified in this group regardless of whether it has additional applications on vehicles outside the delimitations for this group.

Additional Information for Vehicular Equipment Components Additional Information for Vehicular Equipment Components

NATO Supply Group (NSG) 25, also known as Federal Supply Group (FSG) 25 in the US, is a standardized classification system for vehicular equipment components. It encompasses a wide range of parts and accessories used in various types of land vehicles, excluding aircraft, railways, and watercraft.

What types of vehicles are included?

  • Construction vehicles: Bulldozers, excavators, cranes
  • Warehouse vehicles: Forklifts, pallet jacks, tractors

What components are classified in NSG 25?

NSG 25 is further divided into five main categories, each encompassing specific types of vehicular equipment components:

  • FSC 2510: Vehicular Cab, Body, and Frame Structural Components (e.g., doors, hoods, windshields, frames)
  • FSC 2520: Vehicular Power Transmission Components (e.g., engines, transmissions, axles, differentials)
  • FSC 2530: Vehicular Brake, Steering, Axle, Wheel, and Track Components (e.g., brakes, steering wheels, tires, wheels, tracks)
  • FSC 2540: Vehicular Furniture and Accessories (e.g., seats, carpets, dashboards, mirrors)
  • FSC 2541: Weapons Systems Specific Vehicular Accessories (applies only to military vehicles with weapon systems)
