Linear Actuator

Used on Boeing F/A-18E/F “Super Hornet” Strike Fighter

Eaton’s Model 6035 ram air scoop actuator controls the liquid cooling system ram air scoop on the aircraft. The actuator is operated by an electric motor driving a reduction gear train that converts the rotary drive of the motor to a linear drive by an Acme screw. Internal switches control travel limits and excessive loading by interrupting motor power. Manual operation is possible if power is not available to the motor.
