A movable airfoil, whether hinged, pivoted or mounted on tracks, forming part of the leading or trailing edge of a wing of an aircraft. It is designed for the specific purpose of lowering the landing speed by varying the effective camber and may be used in accelerated takeoffs and improved climbs.
