SECTION I. General 4-1. General. The fuel is stored in aluminum fuel tanks located on each side of the powerpack. Each fuel tank has an electric fuel pump to provide fuel to the engine. The fuel is routed through aluminum and steel fuel lines to a paper element fuel filter and then through steel reinforced rubber hoses to another electrical fuel pump on the engine. The engine can draw fuel without the in tank fuel pumps operating but they are needed as a back up system to provide the fuel requirement of the AVDS 1790 engine. 4-1
