TM 9-2350-273-BD ARMAMENT’ AND FIRE CONTROL SYSTEMS 10-18. MANUAL PUMP FLUID LOSS General Information: Hydraulic system damaged, manual pump will not operate without fluid. Limitations: ● Frequent checks for leaks ● Degraded turret operations Personnel/Time Required: ● 1-2 soldiers ● 1 hour Materials/Tools: ● Two large cans ● Hydraulic fluid, or oil Other Options: ● See TM 9-2350-276-BD, Hydraulics. Procedural Steps: 1. Disconnect hydraulic lines at powerpack going to manual pump. 2. Cut tops out of cans, or punch large holes into tops of cans. 3. Bend lines carefully so that they will hang into cans. 4. Fill input can with fluid, it will act as a reservoir, so the pump will operate. 5. When manual pump is operated the second can will catch fluid so it can be returned to input can. 6. Record the BDAR action taken. When the mission is completed, as soon as practicable, repair tank using standard maintenance procedures. 10-29
