10-8 TM 9-2350-273-BD ARMAMENT AND FIRE CONTROL SYSTEMS Other Options: ● Open turret hatches and turn on turret blower. Fire main gun as necessary. Procedural Steps: Option 1: Welded patch repair. 1. Use acetylene torch to cut and remove any burrs or protruding metal edges from damaged bore evacuator. 2. Clean any blocked gas ports, if accessible. 3. Measure and record dimensions of damaged area. 4. Use acetylene torch to cut a patch from sheet metal 1/4 - to l/2-inch larger than damaged area. 5. Shape patch to fit curve of bore evacuator. 6. Wire brush bath mating surfaces. 7. Set and secure patch in place over damaged area.
