TM 9-2815-210-34-2-2 6-6. BASIC ENGINE RUN-IN. Be alert at WARNING all times during engine operation for exhaust odors and exposure symptoms. If either are present, immediately ventilate work area. Permanent brain damage or death can result from severe exposure. Use hearing protection during this test. The test is very noisy and the noise can cause damage to your hearing. a. Pre-Starting Instructions. (1) Fill engine crankcase with oil. Refer to LO 9-2320-209-12/1 and LO 9-2320-211-12. (2) Open dynamometer (3) Open dynamometer FRAME 1 fuel supply valves. water supply valves. 1. Turn drain control knob (1) to right until finger tight. 2. Turn drain control knob (1) to left one turn. 3. Turn thermostat control knob (2) to right until water can be heard entering cooling column (3). 4. When water level in sight glass (4) no longer changes, turn thermostat control knob (2) to left until it stops. GO TO FRAME 2 6-31
