TM 9-2815-210-34-2-2 5-39. STARTER ASSEMBLY. a. Engines LD 465-1, LD 465-1C, and LDT 465-1C. FRAME 1 Soldier A 1. Put gasket (1) on starter (2). Put on adapter (3) and adapter gasket (4). WARNING Starter (2) weighs fifty pounds. Be careful to hold it up firmly when putting it on mounting studs. Starter could fall and cause injury to personnel and damage to equipment. Soldiers 2. Put starter assembly (2) in place on engine flywheel housing (5). A and B Aline starter mounting holes (6) with flywheel housing studs (7). Push starter assembly straight in. Soldier A 3. Hold starter assembly (2) until soldier B puts on lockwashers (8) and nuts (9). Soldier B 4. Put on three lockwashers (8) and three nuts (9). Tighten nuts to 140 to 150 pound-feet.
