Look in window (1). Turn drive gear hub (2) until timing mark (3) lines up with pointer (4). Look in timing window (5) and check that marked tooth (6) can be seen. If marked tooth (6) cannot be seen, turn drive gear hub (2) exactly one full turn. Marked tooth (6) will now be visible. Look in window 1 again. Check that timing mark (3) is still lined up with pointer (4). If they are not lined up, turn drive gear hub (2) until they are. Look in timing window (5). Check that marked tooth (6) on plunger gear (7) is one tooth to right of pointer (8). If marked tooth (6) is not one tooth to right of pointer (8), plunger gear (7) must be timed to fuel injection pump timing, device. Refer to TM 9-2910-226-34&p.
