TM 9-2815-210-34-2-2 4-44. WATER PUMP AND RELATED PARTS. b. Inspection and Repair. FRAME 1 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. NOTE If working on water pump from engine LDS-465-1, do steps 1, 3, 4, and 5. For all other engines, do steps 2, 3, 4, and 5. Check that water pump housing (1) has no cracks or other damage. If damaged, get a new water pump assembly. Check that water pump housing (2) has no cracks or other damage. If damaged, get a new water pump assembly. Check that studs (3) have no burrs or other damage to threads. Fix minor damage with thread chaser. If more repair is needed, get new studs. Check that nuts (4) have no damaged threads. If damaged, get new nuts. Check that water pump (5) has no damage or cracks. If damaged, get a new water pump assembly. END OF TASK 4-428 a. Cleaning. There are no special cleaning procedures needed. Refer to cleaning procedures given in para 4-3.
