TM 9-2815-210-34-2-2 FRAME 4 1. 2. GO NOTE Six main bearing caps (1 and 2) and main thrust bear- ing cap (3) are line bored with crankcase (4). If any main bearing cap is damaged, crankcase and all seven main bearing caps must be thrown away. If fit of new oil pump idler gear shaft (5) in bore of front main bearing cap (1) is not 0.001 to 0.0025 inch, throw away crankcase assembly (4) and all seven main bearing caps (1, 2, and 3) and get new ones. Then go to frame 5. If fit of new oil pump idler gear shaft (5) in bore of front main bearing cap (1) is 0.0010 to 0.0025 inch, using 2-ton hydraulic press, press new oil pump idler gear shaft into bore in front main bearing cap until shoulder (6) touches face of front main bearing cap. Ring groove (7) in new oil pump idler gear shaft must face out as shown. TO FRAME 5 4-20
