TM 9-2815-210-34-2-2 FRAME 4 CAUTION 1. 2. 3. 4. Be careful not to nick or scratch journals on crank- shaft (1). If crankshaft journals are damaged, engine will not run properly. Take out crankshaft gear woodruff key (2). WARNING Dry cleaning solvent is flammable. Do not use near an open flame. Keep a fire extinguisher nearby when solvent is used. Use only in well-ventilated places. Failure to do this may result in injury to personnel and damage to equipment. Clean crankshaft (1) with dry cleaning solvent. Clean off sludge and gum using stiff brush. Dry with clean cloth. WARNING Eye shields must be worn when using compressed air. Eye injury can occur if eye shields are not used. Using fuel passage cleaning brush, clean oil passages in crankshaft (1). Flush passages with dry cleaning solvent and blow dry with compressed air. Put crankshaft gear woodruff key (2) back in crankshaft (1) so it will not be lost. GO TO FRAME 5 4-13
