TM 9-2815-210-34-2-2 FRAME 12 NOTE Intake valve guides and exhaust valve guides are the same. 1. Check that six valve guides (1) are not cracked, worn, scuffed or loose. 2. Check that inside diameter of six valve guides (1) is not more than 0.4420 inch. Diameter should be measured 1/8 to 1/4 inch from each end of valve guide. If any valve guide is worn more than given limit, do step 3. 3. If any valve guide (1) is damaged, worn or loose, mount cylinder head (2) in holding fixture and turn cylinder head so that bottom faces up as shown. Drive out valve guide using soft faced hammer and valve guide remover (3). Throw valve guide away, and get a new one. IF ANY VALVE GUIDE WAS TAKEN OUT, GO TO FRAME 13. IF NO VALVE GUIDE WAS TAKEN OUT, GO TO FRAME 16. 4-222
