TM 9-2815-210-34-2-2 (2) Oil pump assembly. There are no special cleaning procedures needed. Refer to cleaning procedures given in para 4-3. Inspection and Repair. FRAME 1 NOTE On engine LDS-465-2, impeller (1) and impeller (2) are pressed together on shaft of impeller (1). They should not be pulled apart. 1. Check that scavenge oil pump cover (3), scavenge oil pump housing (4), and pressure oil pump housing (5) are not worn, scored or damaged. If these parts are worn, scored or damaged, get a new oil pump. WARNING Dry cleaning solvent is flammable. Do not use near an open flame. Keep a fire extinguisher nearby when solvent is used. Use only in well-ventilated places. Failure to do this may result in injury to personnel and damage to equipment. 2. Check that machined surfaces of scavenge oil pump cover (3), scavenge oil pump housing (4), and pressure oil pump housing (5) do not have nicks, burrs or raised metal. Fix any nicks burrs or raised metal with a fine mill file or crocus cloth dipped in dry cleaning solvent. 3. Check that four impellers (1, 2, 6, and 7) are not badly worn, scored or damaged. If impellers are worn, scored or damaged, get a new oil pump. 4. Check that four impellers (1, 2, 6, and 7) do not have nicks, burrs, or raised metal. Fix small nicks, burrs or raised metal with a fine mill file or crocus cloth dipped in dry cleaning solvent. NOTE Engine LDS-465-2 does not have bushing (9). 5. Check that two drive impeller bushings (8) and bushing (9) do not have nicks, burrs or raised metal. Fix small nicks burrs or raised metal with a fine mill rat tail file or crocus cloth dipped in dry cleaning solvent. GO TO FRAME 2 4-158
