TM 9-2815-210-34-2-2 FRAME 2 1. 2. 3. Check that piston rings (1) are not scuffed, scored, chipped or have chrome plating worn through to bare metal. Check closely those rings that may have been sticking in ring grooves. If any rings are damaged in any way, get new ones. WARNING Dry cleaning solvent is flammable. Do not use near an open flame. Keep a fire extinguisher nearby when sol- vent is used. Use only in well-ventilated places. Fail- ure to do this may result in injury to personnel and damage to equipment. Check that piston pin (2) is not cracked, nicked or scratched. Fix minor damage with a fine mill file or crocus cloth dipped in solvent. If more repair is needed on any pin, get a new one. Check that retainer rings (3) are not cracked or bent. If any retainer ring is damaged in any way, get a new one. GO TO FRAME 3 4-132
