TM 9-2815-210-34-2-2 FRAME 2 NOTE Cylinder bores (2) in crankcase (1) are machined to two different sizes. Cylinder sleeves are also machined to two different sizes to fit different size cylinder bores. The two sizes of cylinder bores and cylinder sleeves are called "Y" and "Z". All six cylinder bores (2) are not always the same size. Cylinder bores (2) and cylinder sleeves are called by numbers one to six counting from front to rear of crankcase. 1. Look at left side of crankcase (1) opposite each cylinder bore (2) about one inch below top of crankcase. The letter "Y" opposite a cylinder bore means this is a Y-size cylinder bore. The letter "Z" opposite a cylinder bore means this is a Z-size cylinder bore. NOTE Readings must be within limits given in table 4-28. If readings are not within given limits, throw away part and get a new one. 2. Measure inside diameter of all six cylinder bores (2). Note this measurement and the number cylinder it was taken from. GO TO FRAME 3 Table 4-28.
