TM 9-2815-210-34-2-1 FRAME 4 CAUTION Soldier A Soldier B Soldier A Soldiers A and B Be careful not to scratch inside surface of cylinder sleeves (1) when taking out piston and connecting rod assemblies (2 and 3). Be careful not to scratch or dent connecting rod upper bearing halves (4) when pushing out piston and con- necting rod assemblies (2 and 3). Push only on bottom of connecting rod (5), not on bearing halves. NOTE Cylinder sleeves (1) may come out with piston and connecting rod assemblies (2 and 3). If cylinder sleeve comes out, tag it so it can be put back in the same place. 1. Watch top of cylinder number one piston and connecting rod as- sembly (2). Tell soldier B when piston rings (6) are clear of cylinder sleeve (1). 2. Using wood or nylon dowel and hammer, gently tap bottom of cylinder number one connecting rod (5). Drive piston and con- necting rod assembly (2) out of engine until soldier A tells you piston rings (6) are clear of cylinder sleeve (1). 3. Pull piston and connecting rod assembly (2) out of engine. 4. Do steps 1 through 3 again for cylinder number six piston and connecting rod assembly (3). GO TO FRAME 5 3–175
