Remove four screws (1), lockwashers (2), cap (3), and gasket (4) from gearcase (7). Discard lockwashers (2) and gasket (4). Remove seal (38) from cap (3). Discard seal (38). Remove six screw-assembled lockwashers (22), cover (23), and gasket (24) from brakecase (11). Discard screw-assembled lockwashers (22) and gasket (24). Remove adjusting screw (14), washer (15), spring (16), and brakeband (17) from brakedrum (18). Remove screw (25), lockwasher (26), washer (27), brakedrum (18), and woodruff key (28) from worm gear (29) and brakecase (11). Discard lockwasher (26) and woodruff key (28). NOTE Ensure gearcase and brakecase are marked for assembly. Remove four screws (13), lockwashers (12), brakecase (11), and gasket (10) from gearcase (7). Discard Iockwashers (12) and gasket (10). Remove seal (19) and plug (20) from brakecase (11). Discard seal (19) and plug (20). Remove gear (37) and drum shaft (36) from worm gear (29) and gearcase (7). Remove gear (37) and two woodruff keys (35) from drum shaft (36). Discard woodruff keys (35). CAUTION Excessive tapping may damage worm gear. Tap worm gear (29) and bearing (30) from gearcase (7). Remove bearing (30) from worm gear (29). Remove bearing (21) from gearcase (7). Remove breather (5) and bushing (6) from gearcase (7). Remove two screws (9) and block (8) from gearcase (7). Remove two plugs (31) from gearcase (7).
