Installation INITIAL SETUP APPLICABLE MODELS M185A3 PERSONNEL REQUIRED Two TEST EQUIPMENT REFERENCES (TM) Multimeter (Appendix B, Item 3) TM 9-2320-361-10 TOOLS General mechanic’s tool kit (Appendix B, Item 1) Tool kit, electrical (Appendix B, Item 2) MATERIALS/PARTS Four lockwashers (Appendix F, Item 142) Gasket (Appendix F, Item 82) Safety wire (Appendix C, Item 31) Electrical tape (Appendix C, Item 26) TM 9-2320-361-20 TM 9-2320-361-34P EQUIPMENT CONDITION . Parking brake set (TM 9-2320-361-10). ● Battery ground cable disconnected (TM 9-2320-361-20). CAUTION Use care when removing or installing wiring harnesses. Excessive snagging or pulling may damage wires. NOTE 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. Tag wires and terminals for installation. Slide handle (4) on safety switch box (3) to OFF position and open cover (1). Loosen two screws (2) and remove two wires (5) from safety switch box (3). Remove two screws (10) and cover (9) from start/top switch (8). Remove three screws (7) and wires (6) from start/top switch (8). NOTE Safety wire must be attached to wires with electrical tape. Attach safety wire (11) to two wires (5) and three wires (6). Remove four screws (15), lockwashers (14), receptacle (13), two wires (5), three wires (6), and gasket (12) from van body (16). Discard gasket (12) and lockwashers (14). Remove two wires (5) and three wires (6) from safety wire (11). b. Installation 1. Attach safety wire (11) to two wires (5) and three wires (6). 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. 15-72 NOTE Assistant will help with step 2. Pull two wires (5) and three wires (6) through van body (16). Install new gasket (12) and receptacle (13) on van body (16) with four new Iockwashers (14) and screws (15). Remove safety wire (11) from two wires (4) and three wires (6). Install two wires (5) on safety switch box (3) by tightening two screws (2). Install three wires (6) on start/stop switch (8) with three screws (7). Install cover (9) on start/stop switch (8) with two screws (10). Close cover (1) on safety switch box (3) and slide handle (4) to ON position.
