Test spring seat bushing by placing jack under torque rods (1) and raise vehicle until springs (3) are raised off wear pad (7) but not touching spring bracket (6). Position prybar between U-bolt saddle (4) and lifting pin (5). Pull up on prybar. If there is play, inspect bushings for damage or adjust as necessary. NOTE Use caution not to lose the detent ball and spring when removing/installing the pin. e. Remove lifting pin (6). Clean and lubricate with GAA and re-install. a. Using a .001 in. (0.025 mm) thick feeler gauge, check for space between rivet head and riveted frame member. Penetration of the feeler gauge between rivet and riveted member is reason to suspect the riveted connection and/or rivet should be replaced. a. Rivets are missing or loose. 1 8 7 7 6 5 3 1 4 4
