Using a piece of wood, cover approximately 90 percent of air cleaner opening. d. Observe the air cleaner indicator (1) to see if yellow band is visible. If yellow band is visible, air cleaner indicator (1) is working properly. If not, air cleaner indicator (1) is defective or indicator tube is obstructed. Stop engine (TM 9-2320-361-10). e. Remove wood and install cap on air cleaner with clamp. Inspect for completeness, security, and readability. Replace if necessary. ENGINE COMPARTMENT WARNING If NBC exposure is suspected, all air filter media must be handled by personnel wearing protective equipment. Consult your unit NBC officer or NBC noncomission officer for appropriate handling and disposal instructions. Failure to do so may result in injury to personnel. NBC contaminated filters must be handled using adequate precautions and must be disposed of by trained personnel. Failure to do so may result in injury to personnel.
