STE/ICE-R No-Go Chain Test (Contd). NOTE Check voltage drop across all cable/connections in negative side of starter circuit. Use procedure outlined below for each voltage drop check. NOTE Test GO 1 (WP 0017 00), VTM Connections and Checkout, must be performed before running any other STE/ICE-R test. DO TEST PROBE CABLE OFFSET: • Short clip leads of test probe cable W2 together. • Dial 89 into TEST SELECT switches. • Press and hold TEST until CAL message appears on display. • Release TEST. • Wait for offset value to appear on display. • Is offset value within limits of –6.8 to +6.8? 1 MEASURE VOLTAGE DROP: • Connect clip leads of W2 across part to be measured. • Press TEST switch • Press starter switch on vehicle. • The voltage drop across a connection should be less than 0.1 volt and the drop across a cable should be less than 0.2 volt. • Repair or replace defective part. 2 NO YES BATTERY COMPARTMENT— NEGATIVE SIDE VOLTAGE DROP CHECKS NG121 TK MODE • STE/ICE is bad. Replace. PROMPTING MESSAGE NOTE After completing repair, rerun GO Chain tests (WP 0017 00) to verify that problem is fixed and no other problems exist.
