Cleaning and Inspection 1. Clean cargo body tailgate (1) (TB 43-0209 and TM 43-0139). 2. Inspect cargo body tailgate (1) for structural damage or rust. Replace if damage or rust is severe and exceeds available repair procedures. 1. Remove and install lashing hooks and/or data plate(s) in area(s) to be repaired or painted (paras. 12-3 and 12-4). 2. Remove paint and/or rust from area(s) to be welded or repaired (TM 9-237). NOTE Refer to TM 43-0139 and TB 43-0209 for body repainting and camouflaging. 3. Repair cargo body tailgate (1) (TM 9-237 and TC 9-510). If welding is necessary, notify your supervisor. FOLLOW-ON TASK: Install cargo body tailgate (paras. 12-3 and 12-4). 12-15
