TM 9-2320-361-10 2-24. OPERATION OF FRONT WINCH WARNING Be sure the front winch drive shaft shearpin is aluminum. Do not substitute any other type metal pin for the shearpin, or injury or death to personnel may result. CAUTION Do not operate winch with less than four turns of cable on drum. Failure ta do so may cause damage to winch. a. Unwinding Winch Line. (1) Place vehicle so that winch (1) is in direct line with object (2) to be winched. (2) Apply parking brake (4), and place transmission gearshift lever (3) and transmission power takeoff lever (5) in NEUTRAL position with hinge lock (6) closed. 2-94
