TM 9-2320-209-34-2-2 FRAME 4 NOTE Backlash between wormgear and worm wheel should be as small as possible without making it too hard to turn worm wheel. 1. Turn wormgear shaft (1) to check basklash. If backlash is too much, take off worm gear housing (2). Refer to para 17-49b. Add or take off shims (3) until backlash is set correctly. 2. Put two safety wires (4) between housing mounting stud (5) and two setscrews (6). 3. Put two safety wires (7) on two capscrews (8). GO TO FRAME 5 17-607
