If reading in step 4, frame 6 is less than .005 inch, add .008-inch thickness to rack drive gear shim seal (1). If reading in step 4, frame 6 is more than .030 inch, take off .020-inch thickness from rack drive gear shim set (1). Assemble and replace boring case gear assembly. Refer to para 17-46g and 17-46h.
