TM 9-2520-272-40 0007 REMOVE TOP COVER ASSEMBLY CAUTION Be careful not to let dirt get into control valve assemblies when top cover is removed. Contamination of control valves can cause transmission failure. NOTE Make sure transmission is in an upright position on f oor or work table during maintenance. 1. Remove 15 machine bolts (Figure 1, Item 3), nine machine bolts (Figure 1, Item 2), and two machine bolts (Figure 1, Item 1) from transmission top cover (Figure 1, Item 4). 2. Remove transmission top cover (Figure 1, Item 4) and transmission top cover gasket (Figure 1, Item 5) from transmission. If necessary, tap cover (Figure 1, Item 4) with plastic-faced hammer to loosen. Discard transmission top cover gasket. Figure 1. Top Cover Assembly Removal. END OF TASK 0007‐2
