TM 9-2520-272-40 0058 WARNING Do a check of slings and trestle for cuts, breaks, or wear before and during lifting transmissions. Slings and trestle can break and cause injury or death. Bevel gear assembly must be lifted using sling, hoist, and trestle. To avoid injury, keep clear of bevel gear assembly at all times. Do not let bevel gear assembly swing freely during lifting. CAUTION Do not cause damage to tubes when you lift bevel gear assembly. Closed tube will cause transmission malfunction. NOTE Machined boss (Figure 4, Item 7) on bottom side of bevel gear assembly must be against pedestal (Figure 5, Item 8) on center housing assembly before bevel gear assembly will install all the way into transmission. 2.
