Before you perform maintenance make sure to properly block the carrier. Do not stand under suspended heavy objects. Keep hands away from pinch points. 1. Remove inboard armor shield. a. Remove two screws (1) and washers (2) from two angle brackets (3) at top of inboard armor shield (4). b. Lower shield (4). c. Remove three screws (5), locknuts (6), six washers (7), and inboard shield from three hinge assemblies (8). Discard locknuts. d. Remove four screws (9) and washers (10) securing two angle brackets (11) and shims (12) to shield (4). e. Remove six screws (13) ﬂat washers (14) securing three hinges (8) and shims (15) to hull. 0771 00-1
