INITIAL SETUP: M a i n t e n a n c e L e v e l Unit T o o l s a n d S p e c i a l T o o l s General Mechanic’s Tool Kit (WP 0926 00, Item 65) M a t e r i a l s / P a r t s Adhesive (WP 0928 00, Item 4) Cleaning Compound (WP 0928 00, Item 17) P e r s o n n e l R e q u i r e d Unit Mechanic R e f e r e n c e s See your -10 E q u i p m e n t C o n d i t i o n Engine stopped (see your -10) Carrier blocked (see your -10) REMOVAL NOTE Cushioning pads are used at various stowage locations (pioneer tools, tow cables, etc.). All pads are replaced the same way. Replace only cut, torn, or hard pads. 1. Using putty knife or similar tool, lift corner of cushioning pad and peel pad from hull. 2. Scrape any remaining adhesive from hull. INSTALLATION 1. Thoroughly clean hull mating surface with cleaning compound. 2. Apply thin coat of adhesive to hull mating surface and back of new pad. 3. Allow 10 to 20 minutes for adhesive to dry. Surfaceshould be tacky, but not too sticky. Warmer temperature will speed drying time. 4. Position pad on hull and press firmly into place.
