TM 9-2350-277-20-4 ADJUST RAMP LOCK (M113A3 AND M1059A3 ONLY) — Continued 0521 00 NOTE Some carriers are equipped with flat shaped ramp lock rods, while other carriers are equipped with hex shaped ramp lock rods. Adjustment is different, as described below. 7. To adjust rear latches (1), loosen two screws (2) that secure bracket (3) to hull top plate. 8. For carriers with flat shaped rod (4), turn clevis (5) on rod, as needed, to lengthen or shorten linkage. NOTE Making linkage shorter pulls the ramp in and puts a tight squeeze on the ramp seal. Making linkage longer lessens the squeeze on the seal. 9. For carriers with hex shaped rod (6), bend back tabs on washer (7), loosen jam nut (8), remove rod from clevis (9), and discard washer. Install new washer, and install rod in clevis. Place link (10) in clevis (5). Secure with headed pin (11) and new cotter pin (12). Turn rod as needed to lengthen or shorten linkage. Tighten jam nut and secure by bending tabs of new washer. 10. For carriers with flat shaped rod (4), place link (10) in clevis (5).
