INITIAL SETUP: M a i n t e n a n c e L e v e l Unit T o o l s a n d S p e c i a l T o o l s General Mechanic’s Tool Kit (WP 0926 00, Item 65) M a t e r i a l s / P a r t s Cotter pin Flat washer (as needed) Key washer (8) Key washer (carriers with hex shaped ramp lock rods only) (2) P e r s o n n e l R e q u i r e d Unit Mechanic Helper (H) R e f e r e n c e s See your -10 E q u i p m e n t C o n d i t i o n Engine stopped (see your -10) Carrier blocked (see your -10) TEST AND INSPECTION RAMP LOCK TEST 1. Turn MASTER SWITCH ON. Start engine (see your -10). 2. Raise and lock ramp (see your -10). 3. With ramp up, ramp lock handle should latch tight. Swing handle forward until it clicks. If linkage is adjusted right, it should take a good push to latch the handle. 4. Check that top, sides, and bottom of ramp are aligned right. NOTE Ramp seal should be compressed enough to prevent water leakage, yet without metal-to-metal contact between ramp and hull. 5. If ramp handle will not latch or ramp does not seal, perform ramp seal test (Step 1) and adjust ramp lock (Step 1). RAMP SEAL TEST WARNING Lowering ramp could injure personnel. Make sure no one is in ramp zone before you lower ramp. If tactical situation permits, sound horn before dropping ramp. 1. Lower ramp (see your -10). 0521 00-1 Change 2
