TM 9-2350-277-20-4 REPLACE COMMANDER’S HATCH HOOK AND BUMPER (M577A3 AND M1068A3 ONLY) — Continued 0501 00 INSTALLATION 1. Align hook (1), two spacers (2), spring (3), and two washers (4) with hull brackets. Secure with screw (5) and new locknut (6). NOTE Install washers (7), as needed, to compress bumper 1/4 inch (6 mm) when hook is engaged. 2. Install washer (7) and bumper (8) in hull bracket. Secure with washer (9) and new locknut (10). 3. Install block (11) four washers (12), two screws (13), and nuts (14) on bracket. 4. Install hook (15) in quick release pin (16) and chain (17). Squeeze both ends of hook to secure. 5. Install tube (18) on chain (17). 6. Install hook (19) on chain (17) and hull bracket. Squeeze both ends of hook to secure. FOLLOW-THROUGH STEPS 1. Install and adjust commander’s hatch interior latch WP 0502 00. 2. Open commander’s hatch cover and engage hook (see your -10). Check that hook and bumper are properly installed. END OF TASK 0501 00-4
