TM 9-2350-277-20-4 REPLACE POWER PLANT DOOR (M113A3 ONLY) — Continued 0470 00 INSTALLATION 1. Install shield (1) on power plant door (2). 2. Install two spacers (3) on ends of power plant door (2). NOTE Install spacers in Step 3 (up to three on each side) as required to allow power plant door to swing freely. 3. Install spacers (4) on ends of power plant door (2). 4. Install bracket (5) (with square hole) on left end of power plant door (2), over springs (6). 5. Install bracket (5) on right end of power plant door (2). WARNING Power plant door is heavy. It can fall and injure you. Do not remove housing before relieving spring tension by lifting and holding with lifting device. Damaged lifting slings can fail with load. Soldiers can be killed or injured. Inspect all slings before use. Do not use damaged slings. 6. With suitable lifting device place power plant door (2) in open position, so brackets (5) can be secured to hull with four screws (7) and washers (8). Do not tighten screws. 7. Lower power plant door and check for a secure and even fit. If power plant door does not clear top of opening, shims (9) must be added until an even fit around the hull is obtained. Place shims (9) under brackets (5). Tighten screws (7) snug after each shim is installed until power plant door clears top of opening. 8. TIGHTEN FOUR SCREWS (7) TO 18-20 LB-FT (24-27 N m) TORQUE. 0470 00-3
