TM 9-2350-277-20-4 REPLACE STEERING LOCK SOLENOID, BRACKET, LINKS, AND PINS (SOLENOID-ACTIVATED LOCK) — Continued 0428 00 ADJUSTMENT 1. Use a 6-inch ruler to measure the distance from solenoid housing (1) to center of rod end pin (2). 2. Depress solenoid plunger (3) in until it bottoms in solenoid housing (1). Measure the distance from solenoid housing to the center of the rod end pin (4). The difference between the two measured distances should be 1/2 ± 1/32 inch (12.7 ±.8 mm). C A U T I O N Do not grip solenoid plunger with tools. Steady by inserting awl into side hole. 3. Adjust stroke of rod end (5) by loosening jam nut (6) and turning solenoid plunger (3) clockwise or counterclockwise. NOTE Do not allow plunger to turn while tightening jam nut on rod end. 4. Tighten jam nut (6) on plunger (3). 0428 00-7
