TM 9-2350-277-20-3 REPLACE STARTER — Continued 0259 00 WARNING Starter weighs 75 lbs (34 kg) and can cause back injury if handled improperly. Be sure to use a hoist or a helper to remove starter. 3. Remove three bolts (1), lockwashers (2), gasket (3), and starter (4) from engine. Discard gasket and lockwashers. INSTALLATION 1. Apply thin coating of insulating compound to electrical connectors (5), and terminals (6) of starter (4). 2. Install new gasket (3) on starter (4). Install starter on engine. Secure with three bolts (1) and new lockwashers (2). TIGHTEN BOLTS TO 137-147 LB-FT (186-198 N•m) TORQUE. 0259 00-2
