TM 9-2350-277-20-3 0348 00 CLEANING WARNING Battery posts and cables touched by metal objects can short circuit and burn you. Do not wear jewelry, necklaces, or watches when working on the electrical system. Keep tools away from posts, wires, and terminals. 1. Clean battery with nonmetallic brush dipped in mixture of sodium bicarbonate and water. After foaming stops, flush battery with clean water. Dry with clean cloth. 2. Clean battery box retainers and parts by soaking in mixture of sodium bicarbonate and water. Dry parts and apply coating listed in order of preference. 3.
