CAPSTAN AND ANCHOR KITS — M1059A3. Provide a system to pull carriers out of mud, soft dirt, or swampy areas. Act as self-recovery system for the personnel carrier. The Capstan Kit has two drums that attach to the final drives. The Anchor Kit anchors are placed in the ground, then attached to nylon ropes which are wound onto the capstan drums to pull the carrier free.
